John was born April 27, 1945, in Alamogordo, NM to the pioneer family of Philip Green and Callie Lee Smith Green of Cloudcroft, NM.

John went home to be with Jesus on Saturday, February 21, 2015. He is preceded in death by both parents, Philip and Callie Lee Green and sister June Green Lewis.

He leaves behind his wife of 46 years Judy, son John Henry Green, Jr., daughter in law Allison Morrison Green, five grandsons, Mason David, Brady Lee, Cody Ross, Tyler Bennett, and Blake Thomas Green and one granddaughter Hailey Kay Green, and sister Mary Louise Young along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.

John graduated from Cloudcroft High School, Cloudcroft, NM in 1963 having attended all twelve years there. He worked for Otero County Rural Electric Coop for over ten years. He moved to Austin, TX in 1979 and worked for the Carpenter’s Local Union for many years. He was currently employed by the Housing Authority of the City of Austin for nearly 18 years.

He especially loved being on the sidelines watching his grandsons playing sports with the San Marcos Panthers and the Dripping Springs Saints. He always said the grandchildren change your life in so many ways and bring so much love and delight. He was a great “DDAD”.

He was loved by many family and friends and he will be missed dearly.

Visitation will be at Harrell Funeral Home, Kyle, TX, Wednesday, February 25, 2015 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at First Baptist Church, Dripping Springs, TX.
